Apprenticeship Awards – nominations now open

The Apprenticeship Awards 2009 are looking to reward apprentices who are exceeding their employer's and learning provider's expectations.

The Awards recognise and reward both employers and apprentices who are successfully using apprenticeships to improve their business performance and tackle skills shortages, whose contribution to the workplace has exceeded their employer's expectations and resulted in measurable benefits or who have overcome difficulties to succeed through their apprenticeship.

Two awards are given:

The Apprentice of the Year Award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate apprentices' exceptional contributions to their workplace. Judges are looking for apprentices that make a real difference to the organisation they work in by going beyond everyone's expectations and delivering measurable benefits.

Who should enter?

Apprentices must be working towards, or have completed, an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship. All applicants must have been in been in Learning and Skills Council funded learning in April 2006 or started their Apprenticeships since April 2006.

The closing date for entries is Friday 27 February 2009. The National Apprenticeship Awards will be presented on 16 July 2009 in London.
